The Biggest Miss in Indian Sport Isn’t on the Podium

64% 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹. For girls, it starts even earlier than you think.

That’s not a missed medal. That’s a public health crisis.
Girls who play sport live longer, think clearer, and fight disease better. Yet their activity levels decline significantly faster than boys during school years.
The cruelest part? Research suggests girls may experience particularly strong mental health benefits from sport participation.

We’re under-investing in the group that needs it most. India doesn’t even collect national data on how many children play structured sport. We can’t measure what we don’t value.

250,000 children already run through the Athletics Kids Cup. 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿 46% 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀! That’s a start. Not enough.

The podium can wait. The health of 200 million girls cannot.
