In October, Daniel Schenker and Zahir Khan travelled across India to strengthen relationships and shape the next phase of the UBS Athletics Kids Cup. Their journey took them to Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Delhi, Pune, and Mumbai.
The goal: to deepen connections, explore partnerships, and engage directly with the local teams driving the movement on the ground. Each meeting reaffirmed the shared belief that sport can be one of the most powerful tools for education, inclusion, and national development.
Highlights of the trip included:

โžก๏ธ An inspiring exchange with Maya Tissafi, Ambassador of Switzerland to India, and Nik Gugger, Advisor to AKC and Member of the Swiss Parliment, on strengthening Swiss-Indian collaboration in youth and sports.

โžก๏ธ A meeting with Sri Vakiti Srihari, Minister of Sports, Government of Telangana, discussing the stateโ€™s growing commitment to grassroots and high-performance athletics.

โžก๏ธ A strategic meeting with UBS, the initiativeโ€™s main partner, focused on long-term impact, volunteer engagement, and shared purpose.

โžก๏ธ Productive sessions with teams and partners in Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, and Mumbai, focusing on expansion, quality, and impact.

โžก๏ธ Visits to schools, where childrenโ€™s enthusiasm and energy brought the true purpose of the UBS Athletics Kids Cup to life.

This journey marked a key step in building the long-term ecosystem that will carry the UBS Athletics Kids Cup forward โ€“ connecting communities, partners, and governments around a shared mission: to move Indiaโ€™s next generation.
